Category : YOUTH HOSTEL/ACCOMMODATION/BACKPACKERS LODGE
City / Town : Pietermaritzburg
Description : Umphiti Backpackers is an original Pietermaritzburg Victorian home, which breathes the essence of it’s city. It’s relaxed and friendly, welcoming and inspiring with it’s eclectic mix of culture and lifestyle.

Pietermaritzburg for the weary traveller is a refreshing city stop. You’ll drop your bags and unwind your toes, then stretch your legs wandering the city streets, you’ll get a smile and “hello”, you’ll be surprised. It’s all close-by, a quaint city glowing from a bygone era, a mix of new and old. There are many stories to be told. You’ll write back home, quickly, because there’s not enough time, you’ve got people to meet, places to be, you’ll love the insight into South Africa’s people’s lives.

Pietermaritzburg and the Midlands are packed full with outdoor activities. We will arrange Adventure Tours from Mountain Biking and Foofie Sliding to Sky Diving and Rock Climbing. We’ve got Township tours and Game reserves. We are passionate about our region and will happily give information, we also advise on visits to Lesotho (Proudly associated with Molumong Lodge, Mokhotlong.)
